Gluten-free

In this section:

For years, people struggled to find gluten-free foods that taste good.

We felt we could help, and in July 2008, we launched our first gluten-free Rice Chex™ cereal.

Today, we offer nearly 1,000 gluten-free options in the U.S., including:

About three million Americans suffer from celiac disease, a disorder that impacts the small intestine when gluten is eaten. Gluten is a natural protein found in common foods like wheat, barley and rye.

More than anything, people tell us that our products taste great. They’re often less expensive than other gluten-free options as well.

We know from personal experience, because some of our gluten-free products came into being with the help of people like Colleen Kargel, a food scientist whose son is gluten sensitive.

Kargel and many of her fellow General Mills employees know that our gluten-free products can make a difference in the lives of people they care most about – like family and friends.

General Mills’ gluten free products hold a special place in the hearts of many. Here’s what we’ve heard:

  • “Thank you for looking out for those of us who can’t eat gluten.”
  • “I have celiac disease and have been eating gluten-free for 12 years. I’ve tried several brands of gluten-free oatmeal and yours is the best! This is the only brand I’ll ever buy.”
  • “When I come across a gluten-free product that actually tastes good, it can bring a tear to my eye.”
